Honor our Parents

¹Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ²"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— ³"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

²⁹For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, ³⁰since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

³Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. ⁴Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

3 Application Points
1) Obedience in love and out of willingness towards our God-Given Parents.

2) Suffering is part of our christian walk with God. It strengthens and reinforces God's authority over our lives.

3) Being selfless. Seeking other's consensus, Being humble to all, Attend to interests of others also and not just ours.
